About me: I am a Midwestern kid (Indiana) who moved to
California in 2003 with my wife, Tonya. I have been
involved in College and Young Adult Ministry at
varying capacity for nearly a decade, and I love
what I do. You’re more likely to find me in a coffee
shop than my office; I’d rather meet you “out there”
than “in here”. I did my undergraduate work Anderson
University and my graduate work at Hope
International University.
Favorite music artists: Counting Crows, Mute Math,
City and Colour, Mewithoutyou, The Glorious Unseen,
Journey
Favorite movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless
Mind, Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, Garden
State, Finding Forrester, Away We Go
Favorite books: The Ragamuffin Gospel (Manning), The
Cost of Discipleship (Bonhoeffer), Abba’s Child
(Manning), The Artists Way (Cameron), How To Read A
Book (Adler), The Return of the Prodigal Son (Nouwen)…this
list is too hard for me.
Starbucks drink: Grande 1 Pump SF Hazelnut Light
Room Americano (Hot or Iced)
If you could have coffee with three people, alive
or dead: It would probably be Chris Farley,
Gilda Radner, and Mother Teresa. I’d just sit and
watch the first two make MT (that’s what I call her)
laugh. It would thrill me like crazy.
Two truths and a lie: I was once a part of a traveling improv comedy/drama team, I have been swimming in
each great lake, I was once 280lbs.
You pit two people in a fist fight, who wins?: Me and
Mike Tyson! You decide!

About me: California grown, I wouldn't live
anywhere else, unless it is overseas or Hawaii.
Coffee is totally my drug of choice. When I'm not
working, drinking coffee, or quoting movie lines you
might find me riding my horses or supporting the
local and mainstream music scene (I love live
music.) I love my job. I would have never chosen
college and young adult ministry but now I can't see
life without it. Working with students and young
professionals, and more specifically, the young
women in FUSION is one of the most
awesome-hardest-life changing-challenging-never stop
learning opportunities I'm glad I've been given. I
love people and their stories. Ask me about
human-trafficking...
Favorite music artists: Brand New, Tyrone
Wells, The Myriad, The Spill Canvas, Ting-Tings,
Dashboard Confessional, Kings of Leon, and City And
Colour (oh there are sooooo many where that came
from)
Favorite movies: Singing in the Rain, Dirty
Dancing, Breakfast Club, Madagascar 1 and 2, Miss
Congeniality, 10 Things I Hate About You, PS I love
you...
Favorite books: Irresistible Revolution and
Jesus For President (Shane Claiborne), Sex God (Rob
Bell), Crazy Love (Francis Chan), The Organic God
(Margaret Feinberg)
Starbucks drink: So, it changes often but
only between these four: grande white chocolate
mocha - hot, grande caramel macchiatto - iced, tall
vanilla latte with an extra shot - hot or iced, and
during summer, a grande iced americano
If you could have coffee with three people, alive
or dead: definitely Mother Teresa, Blake (from
TOMS), and Francis Chan.
Two truths and a lie: I was a rodeo queen, I
have a tattoo, and I am named after my grandfather.
You pit two people in a fist fight, who wins?:
I want to see Tina Fey and Sarah Palin....I have no
idea....
